VL Test Systems Ltd (VLT), with its UK Headquarters in Buckingham, UK, is a leading supplier of high-quality commercial vehicle testing equipment. With over 60 years of experience, VLT designs, manufactures, installs, services, and calibrates testing solutions across the UK fleet-testing market.

Our product portfolio includes roller brake testers, ATF test lanes, headlight beam testers, tyre inspection systems, tachograph calibration devices, and hydraulic wheel play detectors. Supported by a team of over 20 mobile engineers and dedicated sales and technical specialists, we provide end-to-end solutions: from system design and installation to calibration, annual service contracts, and ongoing support.

Your role

As our Sales Representative, you are the face of VLT in the UK commercial-testing market. You will actively engage with workshops, vehicle inspection facilities, MOT centres and fleet operators. You need to understand customer needs, DVSA regulations and translate them into tailored solutions from our advanced product portfolio. Together with our internal Sales and Service teams, you ensure an outstanding customer experience.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Acquiring new customers and managing existing accounts.

  • Delivering product presentations and demonstrations of our DVSA-approved testing equipment.

  • Preparing and following up on quotations, and negotiating contracts.

  • Monitoring market trends, competition, and translating these into commercial opportunities.

  • Collaborating with VLT internal teams for order processing and aftersales support.

  • Representing VLT at trade shows and industry events.

Your profile

You are a proactive and self-driven sales professional with excellent communication skills and a strong commercial mindset. You thrive on achieving results and enjoy building lasting customer relationships. We are looking for someone with:

  • Proven commercial and interpersonal skills.

  • Affinity with technology and/or the commercial-testing market.

  • Independence, resilience, and a results-driven attitude.

  • Experience in a high regulatory background (DVSA is a nice to have).

  • The ability to combine customer requirements with regulations to provide workable solutions.

  • A valid driver’s license (Category B). High mileage is expected with regular overnights.

  • Bachelor’s degree level (or equivalent) or a proven commercial aptitude.

Field sales experience is an advantage, but a strong commercial drive and ambition to grow into the role are equally valuable.
